Another deception technique in Viam Chao is called repetitio, which is latin for repeating. It is sometimes used in conjunction with vagorum, or wandering strikes.

Repeating something over and over is typically not advised; obviously the action becomes predictable. However, there are a couple of instances where it is used to great effect: to lull the opponent into a false sense of security and to set up a vagorum wandering strike, or to demoralize the opponent by viciously targeting the same spot constantly. This is not an area, such as the head, but a specific target, such as the solar plexus, the thigh, or the groin.

Importance Edit

Repetition breeds predictability in a match or altercation, but this can be turned against the opponent in a number of ways to help you trick the opponent or the demoralize them with punishment to the same area.
